After three incredibly successful Celebration of Excellence dinners, one at each Waukesha high school, the Waukesha Education Foundation hosted new Celebration fundraising events in 2008. 

	CASINO NIGHT   Thanks to everyone who joined us for Casino Night. It was a fun, social evening with multiple food stations, classic games like blackjack and roulette, and chances to win fabulous auction and raffle prizes.     Shortly, we will post pictures of the event.

The Bob Duckett Memorial Golf Outing was held July 21st at Merrill Hills Country Club in Waukesha. Bob Duckett, a board member emeritus of the Foundation, passed away in December of 2007. Bob was an avid golfer, and one of the most energetic supporters of the WEF.     More than 120 golfers and 30 additional dinner guests showed an incredible outpouring of support for education in the Waukesha community and Bob. We thank the event organizers, volunteers, attendees and our sponsors which are listed below.

The Third Annual Celebration of Excellence was held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Waukesha North High School and raised $50,000 to fund grants for innovative and creative programs in the School District of Waukesha.  This brings the three-year total fundraising mark for the Celebrations of Excellence to over $100,000.  A special thank you to all of our event sponsors, especially our Signature Sponsors without whom we would not have been successful:  

                   

                         

More than 550 people attended and over 200 students volunteered for this, the third annual event.  Students staffed the "Hall of Excellence" which celebrated school and student achievement, they served food, and members of the Horning Middle School flute choir, the North High School Chamber Singers and the Northstar marching band all provided musical entertainment.

Heidi Laabs, recently retired Director of Curriculum and Instruction was honored with the "Community Partner in Education Award" for her many years of service and contributions to the School District.  Jill & Gary Beres of Culver's of Waukesha were honored with the "Corporate Partners in Education Award" for their many contributions to kids and schools in Waukesha.

The North High School Fieldhouse was transformed into a stunning banquet room for the dinner and silent auction.  The theme for the night was "Students Today, Stars Tomorrow".

 

Student volunteers, including these raffle ticket sellers, donated their time and energy to the evening.

 

The "Hall of Excellence" featured a wide range of school and student projects that demonstrated creativity, innovation and excellence in the Waukesha schools.
